Styrofoam Cups, Hot Glue

Ace Gallery Los Angeles, 2005

This woman is by far one of the most eccentric artists I have heard of and seen part of her work online. Her medium is installations. Just like Andy Goldsworthy, she happens to work around the same idea. Donovan creates art by working with ordinary objects, wether its plastic or simply natural. In the picture you can see that there are millions of styrofoam cups hanging from the ceiling. They look like cocoons, or maybe even spider nests. She has also played a lot with nature. I have seen pictures of rocks placed together in various directions. Her style could also be said to be earthy. I cannot wait to see her at the Museum of Contemporary Art Museum in San Diego. Her collection is running through December I believe. An artist always sees the world in a different perspective. Tara Donovan is part of the artist group who have a huge amount of creativity and who captivate the world through a different set of mind.
