Morgan Blair
This past summer, I went to a workshop with the beautiful Morgan Blair. She has a very modern and colorful style. I had the pleasure of hearing her talk about her struggles and achievements with becoming an artist. One of my favorite pieces "Diamond Collection" (seen below). I also liked the way she plays around with color and images. She first sketches a lot before actually having a specific topic to illustrate. The diamonds have been a success for her to work with over and over again. She said that it doesn't really matter how many times you repeat a subject, as long as you put it to good use. Those weren't her exact words, but she did imply it to me while she was going through the slides of her artwork. At the workshop she also mentioned how in some of her artwork she incorporates old family pictures into her artwork. She will either scan them or sketch them directly. Morgan is a young woman who contributes her art to the modern era.
